Privacy policy
FareScope doesn’t collect or store any personal data. Its only internet connection is checking for updates, when you ask it to.
Effective 1 November 2026.
What stays on your Mac
The video and audio FareScope measures, your settings and its logs all stay on your Mac. We never see them. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising, crash reports or tracking.
Network connections
FareScope connects to the internet for one thing: checking for updates, and only when you choose Check for Updates… in the FareScope menu. It never checks on its own and never downloads anything in the background. Each check downloads a short list of the latest versions from our download site, hosted by Cloudflare. Like any website, Cloudflare sees your Mac’s internet address and which version of FareScope is asking. Nothing else is sent: no video, audio, settings, logs or details about your Mac. An update is downloaded and installed only if you click Install.
FareScope’s only other network feature is the optional Stream Deck remote, which is off until you turn it on and accepts connections only from the same Mac.
The Stream Deck plugin
The FareScope plugin talks only to FareScope on the same Mac. The Stream Deck software itself comes from its maker and has its own privacy policy.
